No to dzisiaj zabralam sie za pierwsze pranie, popralam wszystkie ciuszki, kocyki, reczniki, skarpetki, czapeczki i tak dalej co dostalam no i poukladalam w pokoju. Poza tym posprzatalismy w malej pokoju i poprzestawialismy meble zeby juz staly tak jak beda. Takze podstawowe rzeczy mamy zrobione, teraz jeszcze lozeczko i pare drobiazgow, dekoracji i bedzie pokoj gotowy.

Today I did the first laundry, I washed all the clothes, blankets, towels, socks, hats and other stuff that I got, and I put it away in her room. On top of that, we cleaned her room and closet, and moved the furniture the way they will stay. So, we have the basics done and now we just need to get the crib and a few smaller things and decorations, and the room will be ready.

Dziekuje bardzo za zyczenia urodzinowe, dzis minelo mi bardzo milo! Jak wrocilam do domu zastalam nastepujaca niespodzianke...a potem lunch w mojej ulubionej restauracji i spacer po miescie. No i potem do roboty:)

Thank you all for my birthday wishes! I spend today in a very nice way. When I got home, the following surprise was waiting for me.....and then we went for lunch to my favorite restaurant and walked in downtown. And that was it, now back to work:)

W sobote mielismy impreze dla malej u Goski i Wojtka na chacie. Przyszlo bardzo duzo znajomych jak i rodziny. Nawet znajomi przyjechali z Aten. Bawilismy sie swietnie i mala dostala przepiekne prezenty. Jak juz wszystko poukladam w pokoju i urzadze to wtedy beda zdjecia. Dziekujemy wszystkim za obecnosc i prezenty!!!

On Saturday we had the Baby Shower at Gosia and Wojtek's house. We had a lot of friends and family coming. We even had a lot of people from Athens. We all had a blast and we got great stuff for the baby. When I put everything where it should go and finish the nursery, I'll put the pictures up. Thank you again to ya'll for coming and great gifts!!

No to niby cieplo bylo, ale teraz jednak troche zimniej. Nic to, Walentynki minely w bardzo cieplym nastroju...po dlugim dniu w pracy zastalam mojego meza w posprzatanym mieszkaniu, z cieplym obiadem na stole i kwiatami...nie narzekam:)

It was supposed to be warm, but now it is a bit colder..Anyway, Valentine's Day had a very warm atmosphere at home...after a long day at work, I get home to a clean house, warm dinner, and flowers on the table...All thanks to my husband...I'm not complaining:)

No to u nas chyba juz wiosna nastala, bo w ciagu dnia temperature bardzo przyjemna i rozne rzeczy zaczynaja kwitnac. Na zdjeciach ponizej, drzewa magnoliowe kwitna na kampusie. W nocy jeszcze przymrozki, ale w ciagu dnia robi sie przyjemnie..Jeszcze takiej slabej zimy nie bylo u nas odkad to mieszkam.

I guess we have spring here now, as we have nice temperatures during the day and various things start to bloom. You can see magnolia trees blooming on campus. It does freeze at night, but during the day it is really nice...We didn't have such a warm winter yet since I moved here..

Our Kicia is chilling all stretched out on the desk by the window, and from time to time she is performing some tricks for us, as you can see on the movie.

Juz troche czasu minelo od ostatnich zdjec, wiec dzisiaj zalaczam pare zdjec malej w mamie:) Moim celem przez ostatni tydzien jest zlapanie malej na filmie jak mi brzuch kopie, ale jak na razie refleks mnie zawodzi. Bede nadal probowac.
A tak to czujemy sie dobrze, od niedawna chodze juz jak kaczka i zakladanie skarpetek zaczyna byc dosyc duzym wyzwaniem:) Pogoda u nas szalona, bo w nocy lekki przymrozek a w ciagu dnia dobija do 20 stopni na plusie, takze sprzyja to spacerom.
A ponizej pare zdjec moich (zdjecia nie klamia, nadal mam talie, chociaz wedlug poradnikow juz dawno powinna zniknac - nie narzekam). Do tego pierwsza torba dla malej z motylkami, no i aby bylo miejsce dla niej w pokoju, to szafka z gory przeniosla sie do duzego pokoju na dol.

It has been a little while since last pictures here, so I put a few new pictures of the baby girl in mama:) I have a goal in life now to catch her kicking me on camera, bu so far I have not been quick enough to do that. I will continue to try.
Overall, we feel good, although I have started to wobble when I walk, and putting socks on my feet is presenting to be a challenge:) The weather is a bit crazy, as it freezes at night, but then we reach the 60s during the day, so we take advantage of it and go for walks.
Below, a few pictures of me (the pictures are not lying, I still have a waist, although all the pregnancy books tell me, it should be gone a long time ago - I'm not complaining though:), and the first diaper bag for the baby with butterflies. Also, to empty her room we moved the bookshelf downstairs.

Pierwsze mebelki/ First furniture

Dzisiaj dostalismy pierwsze mebelki do pokoju malej. Na razie stoja w takiej konfiguracji, zobaczymy czy tak zostana. Jeszcze z podstawowych rzeczy brakuje nam lozeczka, no a potem to juz szczegoly:)

Today, we got the first furniture for the baby's room. For now, we put them in this configuration, will see if it stays this way. So, the only other essential needed is the crib, and the rest is just details.

Nowy Rok/ New Year

No to mamy 2012...czas leci jak szalony i wcale nie zwalnia. W 2011 duzo sie dzialo i byl to dobry rok, bo Holzik dostal prace, ja zmienilam prace na lepsza no i oczywiscie ciaza:) Bylismy bardzo zajeci, ale znalezlismy czas zeby troche wyjechac i odpoczac w Biltmore. Poza tym spedzilismy duzo czasu z rodzicami w Atlancie jak i w Savannie i Callaway Gardens.
A myslac o ciazy i ze bedzie to dziewczynka to wyszlo mi, ze wsrod moich kuzynow bylo nas tylko dwie dziewczyny z Goska, a teraz w nastepnym pokoleniu, mamy tylko dwoch chlopakow (Kuba i Michal). Zobaczymy czy ten trend bedzie kontynuowany.
No i ciagle szukamy imienia dla naszej malej, jesli macie jakies pomysly to piszcie, dzwonicie. Wszystkie zostana rozpatrzone :)
Wszystkim zyczymy wszystkiego najlpeszego w nowym roku a sobie zyczymy jak najwiecej snu po 10 Maja:)

Well, so we have 2012...time is flying like crazy and does not slow down. A lot was going on in 2011, and it was a good year, since Halsey got a new job, I changed mine to full time, and of course the pregnancy:) We were very busy, but we did find time to spend off together in Biltmore. Moreover, we spend a lot of time with my parents not only in Atlanta, but also in Savannah and Callaway Gardens.
I was thinking about the pregnancy and the fact that it is a girl the other day, and I realized that among my cousins, there were only the two of us girls (with Gosia), but in the next generation, the situation is reversed, as there are only two boys so far (Kuba and Michal). We will see if this trend will continue.
We are still on the look out for a name for our girl, so please write, call with suggestions. We will consider them all:)
We wish you all the best in the new year, and we wish for ourselves as much sleep we can get after May 10th:)

No to w tym roku po raz kolejny zaprzeglysmy sie z Gocha i Wojtkiem do roboty i zrobilysmy Wigilie po polsku. To znaczy te wszystkie potrawy z Wigilii z naszego domu i domu Wojtka, ktore lubimy, ale rowniez kontynuowalismy z naszymi wlasnymi tradycjami, jak na przyklad czytanie Biblii we wszystkich jezykach naszych gosci (tym razem po polsku, angielsku, wlosku i francusku). Czesc z nich widoczna na zdjeciach. Bylo duzo ludzi i jeszcze wiecej prezentow:) Wszystko widac na zdjeciach ponizej.

This was yet another year that we (with Goska and Wojtek) did Christmas Eve Polish style. This means that we made the dishes that we like from our own homes and continued our own traditions, like reading the Bible in all languages of our guests (this time Polish, English, Italian, and French). Today we were at another ultrasound, except for checking that the baby is fine, we also found out if it is a girl or a boy for sure. To find out you need to watch the movie:) The baby weighs 10oz and 6 inches long.

Dzisiaj bylismy na kolejnym USG. Poza sprawdzeniem, ze wszystko jest w porzadku z dzieckiem, dowiedzielismy sie czy to dziewczynka czy chlopiec. Wyniki w filmiku pod spodem. Dziecko wazy 272 gramow i mierzy 15.2 centymertow.

So, this year we did Thanksgiving ourselves for the first time, instead of being hosted by others. Wojtek prepared the turkey as you can see in the Before and After pictures

Dzieje sie dzieje../A lot is going on...

Nie bylo czasu pisac na blogu bo tyle sie dzialo, wiec teraz troche zdjec w nagrode:) W czwartek bylam na czarterze nowego Lions Clubu, ktoremu pomagam jako Guiding Lion. Jest on glownie zlozony ze studentow z mojego uniwerku (University of Georgia). Mielismy niesamowita przyjemnosc i zaszczyt goscic Prezydenta Swiatowego Wing-Kun Tam. Bardzo mily czlowiek, porozmawialam sobie z nim troche, dziekowal mi za pomoc nowemy klubowi, dostalam jego przypinke i ogolnie bardzo milo. Dzieciaki (w koncu maja tylko po osiemnascie lat) z nowego klubu sa bardzo fajne, zapalone do dzialania i przynalezenia do organizacji, wiec pracuje mi sie z nimi dobrze i bedzie pewnie jeszcze lepiej, jak zaczna dzialac pelna para.

There was no time for writing on the blog because a lot of stuff was going on, but here are some pictures instead:) On Thursday I was at a Charter Night for a new Lions Club that I am a Guiding Lion for. The new club is mainly made out of students from UGA. We had a great honor and pleasure to host The International Lions President Wing-Kun Tam. He is a very nice person, I talked to him for a while, he thanked me for helping the new club, I got the Presidential Pin, and overall it was very nice. The kids (they are all 18 after all:) from the new club are good, they have a lot of drive and urge to belong to the organization. So, working with them has been fun, and it will probably get even better once they get fully to work.

A po takim swiatowym wieczorze, we wikend zajelam sie rzeczami o wiele bardziej domowymi....najpierw zakisilam ogorki, to chyba w koncu czas na zachcianki na ogorki:)

And after such a worldly evening, on the weekend I was occupied with more homely activities. So, I pickled some cucumbers, I think it is high time for pickle cravings:)

A potem zabralam sie za robienie dyni w occie wedlug przepisu Babci Krysi. Dzieki Babciu!!! Wiec najpierw musialam to wszystko obrac i pokroic.

And then I pickled pumpkin according to the recipe of my Grandma Krysia. Thanks Grandma!!!So, first I had to peel and cut.

Potem przez noc w occie. A nastepnego dnia gotowaly sie w ogromym garnku...
Then, they soaked in vinegar for a night. And the next day I boiled them in the huge pot.

No i ostatni krok, czyli do sloikow.

And then the last step....Putting them into jars.

Wychodzi na to za mamy (z Goska) jakies takie zdolnosic genetyczne, ze chociaz robilam to po raz pierwszy, bez dokladnych instrukcji (ile dyn skada sie na kilo obranej dyni?), to kupilam dokladnie odpowiednia ilosc dyni i sloikow:) No to zobaczymy w czwartek (Swieto Dziekczynienia), czy wyszly dobre. Jak probowalam, to mi smakowaly, wiec jest nadzieja:)

It turns out that we (me and Goska) have some genetically inherited skills. I made the pickled pumpkins for the first time, and without detailed instructions (how many pumpkins translates into a pound of a peeled and chopped pumpkin?), I was still able to buy the perfectly fitting amount of pumpkins for the jars that I got:) So, on Thanksgiving, we will see if they came out good. When I tried them, I liked them, so there is hope:)

Chcielismy zlozyc najlepsze zyczenia naszym rodzicom z okazji rocznicy slubu, ktora byla pare dni temu. Zyczymy wszyscy wszystkiego co najlepsze i mamy nadzieje, ze my tez kiedys bedziemy obchcodzili takie wielgachne rocznice. Kochamy was bardzo i gratulujemy:)

We would like to wish all the best to our parents for their wedding anniversary they had a few days ago. We wish you all the best and we hope to reach such a huge numbered anniversaries in the future. We love you and congrats:)

Dzisiaj bylismy na USG. Wszystko przebiega zgodnie z planem, dziecko rozwija sie jak powinno. Niestety technologia nie jest nam dzisiaj sprzyjajaca, bo czesc filmu sie nie nagrala i nie mialam jak sie bawic w obrobke filmu. Takze dwie czesci. W pierwszej czesci widac jak sie rusza, glowa z lewej, nogi z prawej.

Today we went to another ultrasound. Everything is going according to the plan, the baby is growing as should be. Unfortunately, technology was not on our side today, and part of the movie didn't record, and then I couldn't edit what I have, so you can see two parts. In part one of the movie you can see how the baby is moving. Head on the left and legs on the right.

W tej czesci filmiku lekarz sprawdzal czy mozna okreslic juz plec (jak na razie wyglada ze dziewczynka!), a potem widac jak sie rusza i majta nogami:). Na nastepny idziemy 12 Grudnia i wtedy bedzie wiadomo czy na pewno dziewczynka, czy jednak chlopak

In this part of the movie the doctor was looking if he can determine the gender of the baby yet (so far looks like a girl!), and then you can see the baby moving and kicking. We have the next ultrasound on Dec 12, and then we will know if this is a girl for sure, or maybe a boy after all.

Dzisiaj mielismy pierwszy przymrozek w nocy i tylko kilka stopni rano, jak widac na zdjeciach. Kurtka zimowa jak najbardziej w uzyciu, chociaz wiekszosc moich studentow nadal w japonkach...nie poddaja sie :)

Today we had the first frost at night and only in the 40s in the morning, as you can see on the pictures. Winter jacket was needed, although most of my students still wear flip-flops....they just don't give up:)

10 tygodni/ 10 weeks

No to minelo juz 10 tygodni i dzisiaj na kolejnej wizycie u lekarza wszystko poszlo jak nalezy. Dziecko jest teraz rozmiaru sliwki, jakos tak jest ze miara sa owoce albo warzywa:) No a u nas juz po zbiorach w ogrodku, jak widac na zdjeciu. No i zalaczam zdjecie nasze i moje z Kuby urodzin w zeszlym tygodniu, ciaza dobrze robi na wlosy, wiec nawet mi sie ladnie zakrecily:)

Well, it has been 10 weeks now and at the today's doctor's visit everything went well. The baby is the size of a plum now, as it seems that comparison to veggies and fruit is the appropriate way to go. And speaking off, we have harvested our veggies from the garden, as you can see in the picture. I have also put a picture of us and me from Kuba's birthday party last week. It seems that the pregnancy is very good for the hair, so I actually got them to curl nicely:)

No to wszystko u nas dojrzewa..Dziecko ma juz 8 tygodni a nasze warzywka 12 tygodni. No i w koncu sa prawie gotowe do jedzenia. A nasze pomidory zachowuja sie jak blizniaki rozlaczone przy porodzie jak w dobrej brazylijskiej telenoweli. Tydzien temu zerwalam jednego zielonego pomidora myslac, ze moze dojrzeje szybciej w domu. Ale zaczal sie zolcic dokladnie tego samego dnia co reszta.

A tak a propos warzywek to dziecko podobno jest rozmiaru fasolki :) No i pare zdjec zalaczam. Widac pomidorki, papryczke, no i cukinie. Jak je zjemy to sie podziele doswiadczeniami.

Well, it seems that everything is ripening around here. Baby is 8 weeks old and our vegetables are 12 weeks old. They are almost ready to be eaten. Surprisingly, our tomatoes behave like a long-lost twins (just as in a good telenovela on TeleMundo:) I picked one of the green tomatoes and brought it home, hoping that it will ripe quicker. However, it started to turn yellow on the same day as the rest of it's siblings.

And speaking of vegetables, our baby is the size of a bean. And I put some pictures, you can see tomatoes, bell papers, and zucchinis. Once we eat them, I'll tell you how they tasted like.

Dziekujemy za zyczenia i na blogu i przez mejla. Dzien za dniem czuje sie lepiej albo gorzej:) Jeszcze pare tygodni i moze w koncu bede miala energie zeby cos zrobic..cokolwiek...bo na razie to glownie skupiam sie na tym jak tu wykombinowac dobra okazje do drzemki:)

W ostatni wikend obchodzilismy urodziny Holzika. Impreza byla huczna, szczegolnie ze to pierwszy wikend Holzika bez pracy w wikend. Takze wszyscy jedli i pili (no oprocz mnie:)

Thank you very much for all the wishes on the blog and through email. Everyday I feel a little better or a little worse:) But few more weeks and maybe finally then I will have energy to so something...anything at all...for now my main concern is how and when I can squeeze a nap:)

Last weekend though, we celebrated Halsey's birthday. The party was big and great, especially that it was the first weekend for Halsey not having to work. So, everyone ate and drank a lot (well, except for the drinking for me:)

No to zaczynamy....niby kazdy powod jest dobry zeby zaczac bolga, ale teraz mamy bardzo dobry powod zeby zaczac bloga...31 sierpnia dowiedzilismy sie ze bedzie nowy dodatek do naszej rodziny, jak widac na zdjeciu ponizej.

So, this is where we start. It seems like any reason is a good reason to start a blog, but now we have a very good reason to start one...On August 31st we found out the we will have a new addition to our family, as you can see on the picture below.

Jak na razie wszystko przebiega zgodnie z planem i jestem caly czas zmeczona i jest mi niedobrze...Holzik musial zmienic wode po goloeniu, bo mi sie zmienilo upodobanie wraz z ciaza:)

So far everything is going according to the plan, so I am tired all the time and I feel nauseous...Halsey had to change his aftershave cause I can't stand it since I got pregnant.
